Rent quality Old Town canoes and kayaks on the beautiful, friendly Nashua River in West Groton, MA. Put-in right at our site. Flat-water — you can paddle for hours in either direction! Life vests included for all ages.

We have provided a map and directions to our facility.

RESERVATIONS: Recommended for groups. Not usually needed for individuals— just stop by! If you do reserve, there is a 3-hour minimum rental charge.

DISCOUNTS:
10% to groups of 6 or more boats,
and Nashua River Watershed Association members.
 
PUT-IN Charge: $7 for each private boat being launched from our site which is accompanying a rental.
 
BOAT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Available by appointment. (Minimum charge 3 boats)
Ayer, Groton, Pepperell, Townsend:
$14/first boat, $9 each additional boat, per trip
Lancaster, Still River:
$22/first boat, $12 each additional boat, per trip

Please note:
Security is required on canoes taken on your car from our site.
 
Liability release form must be signed by all participants. Renter must be 18 years or older, or have a parent sign our liability release form.
 
Personal Flotation Device MUST be worn at all times while in canoe.
 
NO ALCOHOL!


Group Outing Canoeists

COMPANIES, CLUBS, GROUPS, YOUTH PROGRAMS, REUNIONS, PARTIES! We specialize in serving you.
A canoeing outing on the Nashua is a perfect event for companies, groups and clubs. Paddling down a river brings people together in a new way. The Nashua is a friendly river, a fun and easy paddle for novices. Most group paddles are self-guided. We set you off off with maps, an overview talk about the Nashua River, including picnicking spots and some paddling tips. Or you can arrange for a guide to go with you. If you have a guide, you might want to utilize our enviroinmental education option (see below). Shuttles can be arranged for a one-way trip. And there’s a 10% discount for all rentals of six boats or more.

Here is a sample of Group Trip Options:

2 hour paddle downstream from Nashoba Paddler to Pepperell Pond, ending at a picnic site at the Petapawag canoe launch on Rt. 119.

2 hour paddle from Pepperell covered bridge to Hollis NH, ending at Alpine Grove restaurant for meal. Contact Alpine Grove directly to arrange catering.

4 hour paddle from Ayer to Pepperell with a beautiful, midway picnic stop among the pines.

4–5 hour excursion on the Nashua’s tributary, the Squannacook, up to Bertozzi Wildlife Management area for a picnic and back again, for small groups.

Environmental Education Option — available to all groups!
Turn your group paddle into an educational experience, as well as a fun outing! The Nashua River is a famous restored river, a perfect laboratory for environmental education! We can arrange for: (1) a stop by the Nashua River Watershed Association to see an inspiring 13-minute audio-visual show about the Nashua's historical clean-up and the issues it faces today; (2) a fun, hands-on 45 minute aquatic insect study along the shore; and/or (3) guides to accompany your canoe trip and share tidbits about the Nashua’s environment and history.
